I went to that Japanese restaurant Friday night to have our dinner.
It was a pretty nice place to eat.
We were sitting in a row; Dad, Mom, Kayla, and me. I was so hungry and so ready to eat.
We got more empty chair in our table and another people start coming and joining our table.
Beside me there is a lady and her daughter, and there is a young couple next to them.
In Miyami, the chef will come to each of our table, and cook the food in front of us. It was fun and a little bit weird, or scary, to see chicken, and shrimp, and meet, and eggs, flying in front of our eyes over our head and end up in the stove. oh, wow.
I like the chef though, cause he's so professional and funny. I don't have any idea before about this restaurant, and when I know the chef will cook our meal right in front of us, I was like, really? what the heck is he doing?
but then I know that he's so nice and really funny. He made a lot of jokes, with the food he cook, while he's cooking.
I can't help laughing every time he tease that young couple by saying that she is his sister, instead of his girlfriend. I know it wasn't funny when I write it here but that time somehow it sounds so funny for me,
I'm not playing, I bet you'll laugh too if you were there with us.
(?)
I start talking to him when he give me a spoon of rice, while he is giving the others a full-plate rice. He was joking I knew it. I said,
really, really?/ *put another spoonful of rice/ hey that's my favorite./ *give another spoonful rice/ I don't want to take my sister's plate *looking at Kayla, she was giving me that 'no-don't-take-my-rice-and-don't-get-me-into-your-problem' look. hahaha
He then give me a plateful rice. He better did :p
When he's cooking our steak we had this conversation,
The Chef (tc) : are you chinese? *looking at me
me: me? no, Sir. I'm Indonesian.
tc: oh I though you're Chinese, you look different.
me: yea I'm an exchange student.
tc: I know Indonesian, a little bit.
me: eh? really?
tc: *pointing at Kayla, cantik.
me: HA? HOW DO YOU KNOW IT?
*I'm start to be freaking out.
tc: I was in Indonesia like about...two years ago.
me: REALLY? WHERE?
tc: in Bali
me: HAAA??? WHOAAA!!!!
okay, alright, people start staring at me now.
well, I don't care.
hahaha
We continued our conversation about Indonesia, when a lady that sit next to me ask me a question,
The Lady (TL) : so you're an exchange student?
me: yes, ma'am
TL: how long have will you stay here?
me: one year. I came here in August and I will be leaving in the end of June
TL: oh, and you live with them in here? *pointing at my family
me: yes, ma'am. they are my american family.
TL: wow, do you like it here?
me: yes ma'am. It's different from Indonesia but I love it here.
TL: that's great. well I hope you're enjoying your stay here.
I keep talking with the chef, he's really nice. I forgot to ask him but I bet he's not american. Or if he is, at least he must be coming from another country, cause I recognized his accent and his face looks like people from middle east.
I had a great time that night, and that now is my favorite place to eat.
I hope I can go there again one day.
I love Miyami!
aku mau diajakin dong cha kalo kamu ke sana lagi someday.... ;D
