Okay let's start. Soo, I have a friend named Jacob. If you still remember he was once in my post somewhere in my blog. I think that was when we do the Prom Promise thing, the one that they put our picture on the newspapers. That should be it. Well anyway, he is a really good friend of all the exchange students, included me and Mai. We are pretty much close. One day Jacob told us that his mom has a friend and she is an Indonesian. Whaaa...of course we are excited! *heboh* --"
Several times planning to meet but there always be something that make it not happen. I remember last year she planned to go to our Christmas concert, but she got another thing to do so she couldn't come. Well actually I kinda remember that we have another plan even before that. Hey I just realized I've heard about her like almost a year --". hahaha
Couple weeks ago Jacob said that we will have an Indonesian dinner with her, June 1st is the date we chose. He invited my family and Mai's Family. The dinner will be at the church. That day Ambar (or Ekky) is staying at my house so she's coming with me to the Dinner. We went there at 6.30, Jacob and his family were already there. Just in two seconds then Mai's family came. We just talk while waiting for Ms.Meirisa. Yea anyway that's her name, the Indonesian lady that we will have dinner with. After couple minutes she finally came. I was so excited to see her and I don't know I was a bit nervous, I guess it's because that would be my first time meeting Indonesian in here. Kasian banget yah tapi bneran deh ga pernah gue nemu orang Indonesia di sini, aduhh, payah ya. So then She is coming inside and...*WHAAAAAAA
all of sudden the three of us -Me, Mai, and Ambar, of course- were just screaming that loud. I mean, it was loud. She was holding her little baby girl in her arm, and guess what? the baby starts crying, and crying. Oh gosh!! did we just scared a little baby? keterlaluan --"
it takes time to make her stop crying. We were just laughing and blaming each other -which is obvious that it was, OUR mistakes. I guess we just too excited, or, being epic.
Well anyway we then talking to her. I was surprised that she's been in the states for 18 years! She was once an exchange student in San Francisco 18 years ago but then she's extending her stay. She's never been to Indonesia since then. She said she doesn't have any idea how is Indonesia right now, we tell her a bit about it, and there's no way it will be the same like what's Indonesia in her mind, of course, 18 years ago. -that was when I was just born anyway-
Then here we go, she prepare for the food!!! She brough nasi putih, sambel terasi sama smbel lingkung. She made dessert too, guess what? es dawet! o heck yeah....I'm so ready to eat. Here goes the picture

Kita cerita2 lagi smbil makan, ternyata Ms.Meirisa itu dulunya nari lho, sampai di hired by the US department. Wuih...so cool! so we tell her that we did dance too, saman, in a lot of events. Then you know what happen next. Yes, we dance saman for her! And Jacob too, he hasn't known a lot of the dance, but he got it good in some parts. Ah! he is just so nice, he is so interested in Indonesian cultures. He said he want to come there. oh wow! :D
We did that good! I wish we have some more time so that Jacob can learn more about saman.
And somehow after that we were talking about our christmas soncert that we sang an Indonesian song really good. We tell her that we were singing Lilin Lilin Kecil that time and she want us to sing that for her. So then me and Mai sang that song. By the time we finished, we saw her cry. Oooh...she said it was her favorite song, that time before she came to the states this song is so popular and our singing is just reminds her of that..
Anyway I haven't show you the picture of her..there she is..

After the dinner done, we went to another room to see Jacob's playing piano. I know that he can play piano I just don't know that he plays it really good. When I say really good it means really good!
Kita bertiga sampai mengaga waktu liat dia maen piano, hahaha
Terus tentu saja, gue sok sokan di depan piano pretend to play that yang pastinya itu cuma numpang pose doang :p
I had so much fun that night. Thank you soooo much for Jacob and his family yang betapa baiknya membuatkan kami anak2 exchange ini acara makan malam seperti itu. Ms.Meirisa juga thank you for coming and meeting us Indonesian kids yang rindu akan orang-orang Indonesia ini. She said she might go home -to Indonesia- next year, with her husband and her lil daughter, and Jacob said he will go with her. hahaha
He really want to go to Indonesia :D
I hope Ms.Meirisa really go to Indonesia next year. Ya..tanah airnya ditengok lah sesekali, and smoga we can see her next year, in Indonesia :)
